Minnesota Trip

We spent a week in Minnesota this summer - first we visited Jen's family in the Minneapolis area and then headed north to Ingrid's lake house to visit her and her son Jasem (4) and Monica and her son Max (21 months) No time to caption all of these photos now, maybe later...

Wyatt at 9 months

In a matter of a very quick week or so Wyatt learned to crawl. At first it was just the commando-style on his tummy, using his elbows and feets. Then he figured out the knees. And although he does'nt stay up on his knees for long, he is crawling with lightening fast speed. We have offically baby proofed the whole house. Especially our downstairs area, where it is fully carpeted with no hard wood floors. The carpeting makes for the softest landing areas. Of couse, as soon as Wyatt learned to crawl, he figured out how to pull up maybe a day later. So panic sets fully in for first time parents who are now just hoping and praying that thier son makes it to the first grade without any major head injuries. Wyatt seems to bang his head on something new everyday. He is in good spirits though, and thinks Mommy and Daddy are cooler and funnier than ever. Recently I had to go away for a work trip. Daddy stepped up and took care of the baby the whole time. (Yeahh Daddy!!) It was hard to be gone and Wyatt was even a little hesitant to welcome me back home, but I won him over with some ba-ba's and snuggles. Words cannot describe how I missed my little baby boy! :) When I got back we had to take Wyatt in for his 9-month doctor visit. Turns out the fussy nites we have had recently were not due to just general fussiness and teething, but in fact Wyatt has an ear infection! Poor baby! We were reassured that it should clear up in a couple of days with the medicine he was perscribed. Other news from the doctor included a weight of 19 lbs 6 ounces... kindof slight... only 40th percentile for weight while he is still sitting at 70th percentile for height at 29 inches. We are going to try to beef up his breakfast with iron fortified cereal since he getting so much exercise with the crawling. But Wyatt has always been a fussy/picky eater (just like Daddy) so that could have something to do with his weight gain as well. For now we are onto more fun things for the summer including a trip to see family and friends in Minnesota later this month. We also plan to continue our weekend visits to the neighborhood pool and playground when we are in town. Hope everyone else is doing well and enjoying the summer!
