Wyatt's Christmas Review

Video of Wyatt's first Christmas and message from Wyatt below:

Hey! Wyatt here, being that it was my very first Christmas this year I'd like to let you all know how it went down and what I thought of it. First of all, getting all loaded up in the car with Mommy, Daddy, Me, the 3 dogs, loads of presents, and a bunch of parent and baby stuff took nearly forever. I tried to wait patiently, but then I cried a little thinking it would hurry things along. When we finally got up to Gigi and Pop-pop's and unloaded all of the stuff it was time for Christmas Eve dinner. Mommy fed me a bottle at the table so that I felt included but they didn't let me have any of the good stuff. I understand, it would be hard to chew without any teeth. The next thing I know it's Christmas morning. I loved staring at the Christmas tree and all the pretty lights. I also really enjoyed watching Pop-pop open the present I got him - an elf hat with ears on it! Ha - I already have a great sense of humor! Thankfully so does Pop-pop. There were alot more presents, it was so exhausting to watch that I had to take a nap, of course it was hard to nap with all of the flashes going off - Mommy and Daddy take SOOooo many pictures of me. After all the presents we went to Muzzy's where there were plenty of other people to admire me. There was lots of food, drinks, and merriment. It was a great time and I can't wait until next year when I'll be up and running - by then I may even be able to rip open my own presents (as well as everyone elses) and repeat some of the words I hear my parents say... should be interesting! :)

Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Wyatt is all smiles this week - He's 11 weeks old now! Just when we think he's being abnormally fussy he turns it around and is a super sweetie (maybe he knows it's the Holidays) ... and just when we think we have the hang of this whole baby thing he also turns that around and throws us a curve ball (like not pooping for 2 days) - so each day is really anyone's guess. The only thing we know for sure is that we truely love this little guy to pieces and this is the best Christmas we have ever had, we are so thankful that he is in our lives (whether screaming or smiling). We are headed up to Gigi and Pop-pop's to indulge in Christmas festivities. This year we will enjoy the traditions of Christmas Eve steak and lobster, Christmas morning present opening, and Christmas Day at Muzzy's with the rest of the family even more than we usually do. We hope everyone has safe and Happy Holidays!

Ahh... Parenthood!

As Christmas approaches we are quickly realizing that no gifts have been bought and no cards have been sent... Oh well... maybe next year. We are facing lots of new challenges with crying and sleeping (or lack there of) so we try to really soak in the sweet moments in between when we get a few smiles and coos.
Yum, hands taste good!:

A Shout-Out from Wyatt

Can you believe it? I'm 8 weeks old! Things are going well. We had a good Thanksgiving at Gigi and Pop-pop's. Daddy says I got passed around like an appetizer platter. Apparently I'm quite a big deal. Picture of me (I'm the littelist one) with all the other kids below. On the home front we have finally developed a bit of a routine, if you want to call it that... basically we just do whatever makes me happy, which is napping when I'm tired and eating when I'm hungry. I enjoy the evenings the most and when Daddy gets home from work. I love smiling at Daddy! Mommy actually caught a picture of it the other night (below). I also really enjoy watching things move, like my mobile in the crib and the ceiling fans, I just stare in awe. I would like to give a baby shout-out to the some other babies that have recently arrived or are on their way... so a big hello to Lucas Dylan Murphy, Grant Jacob Phelps, Baby Girl Nusbaum, Baby Boy Russo, and the newest additions... Baby Buick and Baby Iannucci!! Let us know if I forgot anyone or if more of you have big news to share... there seems to be a bit of a baby boom going on!

Sweet Baby Love

We hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving! We are getting ready for our first family trip to Baltimore to stay with Gigi and Pop-pop. Wyatt is now smiling and making a lot of faces and noises. He is awake and active most of the day (although a good couple of hours of that is fussy time) and has been sleeping about 4 hours in a row in 2 sessions at night with a break for a bottle in between. Here are some pictures of us hanging out this week and a video of Wyatt making faces and smiling:

Hello My Friends!

Hello from Wyatt! Seems that I'm now 5 weeks, going on 6 weeks old. I have been busy this past week keeping mommy and daddy on thier toes. In the beginning of the week I didn't sleep much because I was really really hungry and wanted to eat every 2 hours. I also cried a lot... just because. It was kind of a hard time for everyone. I want to say thank you to Becca and Chris for taking my dog sisters (Giselle and Morgan) for a few days to relieve mommy and daddy for a bit. It was very helpful! Towards the end of the week I decided to pull a 180 and be really cute and make a lot of sweet faces and smile at my parents. I figured they deseverd a break from the crying. I also have taken some good afternoon power naps for 3 to 4 hours in recent days which have allowed my loving parents to get a few moments to enjoy the weekend and pick up around the house (finally! - I was wondering when they were going to do my laundry). So I think we are doing better now and there is a chance that this new family I'm part of might be getting the hang of me being around. Mommy and I have also worked out an agreeable eating situation where I get bottles of breastmilk (I love bottles!- they deliver the milk way faster) rather than that breastfeeding thing that is kinda slow and frustrating for me. I also tried some formula this week, it was okay, but I prefer the mommy milk. I think I'm eating plenty of it because we went to the doctor this week and I accidently caught a glimpse of the scale and saw that I weighed over 10 lbs!! Wow I'm getting big quick! Soon I'll be out of my newborn clothes, then walking and talking and running the show... I have big plans!

Wyatt at 1-month

Wyatt is one month old!! Time flys when you are getting such little sleep... actually sleeping has been going well compared to other stories of newborns that we have heard. Wyatt typically sleeps for about 3-4 hours in a row before he wakes us up and needs to eat. We are learning new things about him every day but so far we have noticed that he likes to yawn and stretch and sleep with his arms up over his head. He sleeps best in our bed nestled in his boppy pillow between mommy and daddy (we hope this is not habit forming but admit that we like being close to him too). He also loves the pacificer and does not mind getting baths, he seems to like the warm water. Burping, pooping, and farting are his strong areas, and he is not a big fan of diaper changes. Overall things are going well and we are all looking forward to the Holidays and sharing the baby love with our friends and family.

Happy Halloween!

Trick or Treat! Wyatt thought dress up for Halloween was a bit of a mean trick. He pooped-out the first outfit and had to get changed into the next. Our little pumpkin!

Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Wyatt at 2 weeks

Hello all of my faithful fans! Wyatt here, just dropping in on my blog to say thanks to everyone for letting my parents know how cute I am... Keep reminding them of that for me! They need those reminders after an all-nighter of intermitent crying and fussy spells. Sometimes I just like to cry for no reason in the middle of the night, I'm a baby, what can I say?
So, other than that life is good. Although I sleep most of the time, probably due to all the crying and partying I do at night, I still get out and around a few times a day. Mommy and Dady take me on walks in the stroller or sling or carrier - they seem to have a lot of baby gear! And the dogs like to lick me, which kind of makes me smell like dog breath but that is nothing compared to the odor I can generate in my diaper. Mommy says I am a master-pooper and exceed all expections on how many dirty diapers a newborn baby can generate. I feel honored to be so good at something this soon in life.
Here are some more pictures of me from this week:

The Life of Wyatt

At 12 days old Wyatt has already established a busy and exhausting (obviously, from all the pics of him sleeping) social schedule. Mostly he enjoys...
