This video is of Wyatt doing his little flying penguin routine where he gets on his tummy, puts his arms back, and just kicks his legs - as if he will just slide along if he tries hard enough. Then he has to take a break to catch his breath and rest his head. It's very cute and funny to watch, he get's really into it. It looks like good excerise. Towards the end of the video he also burps... our little charmer :)
Sleeping, Eating, and Teething...
One of Wyatt's favorite parts of the day is his bedtime routine - he gets a bath, a massage, a book, a bottle, and some quality cuddle time with Mommy and then he is fast asleep by 8pm. Sleep is such a lovely thing! He now sleeps from 8pm to 7am every night! The road to a full night's sleep was not painless but we did it and could not be happier with the results!! We are now working on (but mostly just playing with) different kinds of baby food. So far peas are the biggest hit. Also, Wyatt's first teeth are beginning to come in - we can see and feel the bottom front two teeth. Some must share pictures from the last few weeks:

Wyatt at 5 months
Wyatt is 5 months old today! Lots of great things have been going on in our lives recently. We have been busy developing new baby skills like sitting, and playing with our feet. We have even gotten to travel and have a few play dates with other baby boys. Here are some pictures of our recent adventures:Wyatt's first big snow day:
On February 21st (a Saturday) Wyatt suddenly discovered his feet. He has been fascinated with them ever since and particularly enjoys grabbing and holding onto his feet when he has his diaper off between diaper changes. It's quite interesting! He is very thankful that I am not putting pictures of the naked feet grabbing on his blog:
Speaking of naked... I couldn't help myslef! He will definitely have something so say about me sharing this photo in about 20 years:
Last weekend Wyatt had his very first plane ride! Mommy and baby flew from DC to NYC to visit the Murphy's - Vanessa, Jimmy, and thier little boy Lucas (3 months old). Wyatt was great on the plane! He mostly slept with just short wake ups to visit with the other passengers who stopped by our seat to admire him. Picture at the airport ready to board his first flight:

Wyatt has had lots of other playdates as well - he definitely recognizes and at times reaches out to touch other babies... like he's trying to say "Hey! you're a baby too!" Below Wyatt with Grant Phelps, Jack Russo, and Anthony Clarke.

Hello from Wyatt
Hey there! A lot of things are going on in my young life. Believe it or not I finally gave in and have been sleeping 5 to 6 hours in a row! That is technically 'through the night'! My parents are pretty pumped about it. It's not every night that I give them this pleasure, only some nights, but I think it's a huge improvment. At first I thought the rails of my crib resembled a jail cell and I cried A LOT but now I'm really starting to get used to being in there. I don't get swaddled anymore. I find my own comfy position, usually with my hands up over my head. I also take a few day time naps in the new swing my parents got me. It's awesome and has allowed my mommy have a little more free time to type this blog for me. So... the big news... and it's not news to those who have seen recent pictures of me... is that I am losing all my baby hair!! I am now both chubby and bald!... I don't know if the ladies are going to like this. I have a new hair growing in already, blond as well, so hopefully I'm not bald for too long. Other news is that I can pretty much sit on my own for a few moments at a time. With a spotter of course. I can also spin around on my back in my crib. Mommy puts me in one way and never knows which direction she'll find me the next time she comes to check. I also have been really into blowing rasberry's lately. It's fun and I like it when the spit bubbles drip down my chin. Well, better run!... it's about time to eat again!

Busy busy... we have had no time to blog in recent weeks, and not much time now so making this short. Wyatt is nearly 4 months now. He is super active and is still a little hard to handle. We are in the midst of trying to establish a bedtime routine in hopes of getting more sleep. We have so far made no progress beyound the 4-5 hour stretch. Wyatt has also had his first taste of food! - rice cereal!... yum. He does not really eat it yet. He just moves it around in his mouth and then pushes it back out with his tounge. It's very messy... but fun to watch!The pic above and this one were taken by our friend Dan Russo - he has mad camera skills!:
